DAY 3: ARRIVE SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA (SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2023)

DAY 4: SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE

Enjoy a guided tour of Sydney, the capital of the state of New South Wales and home to over five million, including a guided tour of the famous Opera House, spectacular views of the Harbor Bridge and a visit to the National Opal Collection and Showroom. B, L

DAY 5: TOBRUK SHEEP STATION, FEATHERDALE WILDLIFE PARK

Just an hour outside Sydney, Tobruk Sheep Station is a working sheep farm with breathtaking views of the Blue Mountains where visitors learn about the Australian wool industry. See stockman on horseback and working dogs maneuver the flock, witness a whip and boomerang presentation, and enjoy an outback barbecue lunch. Learn about unique local wildlife including koalas, dingoes, wombats and penguins at the Featherdale Wildlife Park. B, L

DAY 6: SYDNEY FREE DAY

After a free day to explore Sydney, enjoy million dollar views, live music, dinner and dancing aboard the prestigious MV Sydney 2000 with the sparkling lights of Sydney as a backdrop. B, D

DAY 7: FLY TO ADELAIDE

Fly to South Australia’s coastal capital and the region’s most cosmopolitan city, Adelaide. Enjoy a guided tour of the city, visit the Art Gallery of South Australia and check into the five-star Intercontinental Adelaide Hotel for a three-night stay. B

DAY 8: KANGAROO ISLAND

Board the Sea Lion 2000 for a 45-minute ferry ride to Penneshaw for an exploration of Kangaroo Island included a guided Seal Bay beach walk, visit to Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary (home to recuperating koala, wallabies and more) and unparalleled photo ops at Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch. DAY 9: BAROSSA VALLEY

Known as the wine capital of Australia, the Barossa Valley is dotted with Lutheran churches, stone cottages and Shiraz vineyards. Dating to 1851, Seppeltsfield Winery is the only winery in the world to release a 100-year old vintage wine each year. Australia’s oldest German settlement, Hahndorf is a charming village of historic streets lined with timber-framed cafes and boutique shops. B, L

DAY 10: THE GHAN

Pack an overnight bag for the Outback experience of a lifetime! Enjoy Gold Service aboard the Ghan, traveling through the Outback past some of the oldest rock formations on the planet from Adelaide to Alice Springs on what TrainReview Magazine described as “one of the world’s great passenger trains.” Overnight aboard the Ghan: cabins feature private en suite bathrooms and upper and lower sleeping berths. DAY 11: ALICE SPRINGS

Arise early for a spectacular Outback sunrise, enjoy brunch on the Ghan, and meet your guide for a visit to Alice Springs, named after the wife of the telegraph surveyor who plotted an Overland Telegraph Station next to the fortuitous waterhole. Ascend Anzac Hill for a panoramic view of Alice Springs and the surrounding ranges. Check into Voyages Sails in the Desert Hotel, Yulara, for a two-night stay. Brunch, D

DAY 12: YULARA

Visit the Royal Flying Doctors Service, providing emergency care to people over an of 7.7 million square kilometers, then transfer to Alice Springs airport for a flight to Ayers Rock. For 25 years, the Sounds of Silence experience features an unforgettable dinner under the Outback sky and the sounds of a digeridoo with a post meal guided viewing of the night sky of the southern hemisphere. DAY 13: AYERS ROCK

Arise early for a drive to Talinguru Nyakunytjaku – the Uluru (also known as Ayers Rock) viewing area. Learn the history and significance of Ayers Rock to aboriginal people and an incredible sight as the sun rises from your vantage point among the colorful sand dunes. After a relaxing afternoon at the hotel before returning to watch the sun set over Ayers Rock, the penultimate photo op at this world-famous site. B, D

DAY 14: CAIRNS

After another spectacular sunrise fly to Cairns, gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, for a three night stay at the Pacific Hotel Cairns. B, D

DAY 15: GREAT BARRIER REEF

Cruise aboard Ocean Freedom for a full day exploration of the Great Barrier Reef. Visit Upolu Cay Reef and the Outer Edge, hear a reef talk by a marine interpreter, enjoy a glass bottom boat tour and take a dip or snorkel for an even closer look. B, L

DAY 16: KURANDA SCENIC RAILWAY

Built over 120 years ago, the Kuranda Scenic Railway winds its way through a tropical mountain range from Cairns to Kuranda, located amidst a World Heritage Rain Forest. See the Pamagirri Aboriginal Dance Show and venture into the rain forest aboard a WWII era Army Duck. B, L

DAY 17: MELBOURNE

Fly to Melbourne, the second largest city in Australia and capital of the state of Victoria and enjoy a local guided tour before checking into the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins for a four night-night stay. B

DAY 18: PHILLIP ISLAND

The National Gallery of Victoria is the oldest and most visited gallery in Australia, situated over two magnificent buildings. Just outside Melbourne lies Phillip Island, home to the Koala Conservation Centre and the Penguin Parade, a nightly sunset parade of one of the largest little penguin colonies in the world! B, D

DAY 19: SURF COAST

Travel the Great Ocean Road to see the Twelve Apostles, a spectacular rock formation of limestone stacks in Port Campbell National Park. B, L

DAY 20: YARRA VALLEY

Explore the Yarra River Valley, an important agricultural region of Victoria, and visit Rayner’s Orchard, a family owned and operated farm producing over 450 varieties of fruit! Enjoy a wine tasting with lunch and spend the evening at Docklands, the bustling family entertainment hub of Melbourne for a scenic farewell dinner. B, L, D

Luggage:

Orange luggage tags are provided and are to be placed on your “checked luggage” (large bag). You do not need a tag for your carry-on bag, for which you will be responsible for taking on and off the coach. There is limited space in the cabin of the coach, so unless you require your carry-on bag while traveling, we will stow it in the luggage compartment.
