DAY 1: LEXINGTON, KY
Our holiday adventure begins in Frankfort, Kentucky with a guided tour of the world’s most award-winning distillery and National Historic Landmark, Buffalo Trace Distillery. Wander amidst bourbon barrels in the aging warehouse before a tasting of their crafted bourbon whiskies. Continue to Lexington for dinner and an overnight stay. D
DAY 2: GREENBRIER RESORT
Travel through the Allegheny Mountains to America’s Resort, The Greenbrier. Since 1778, this world-class resort welcomed guests from around the world. Take an optional private tour of the declassified Bunker, an emergency Cold War fallout shelter, once a top-secret US government relocation facility for Congress. (additional expense). Delight in the grand tradition of Afternoon Tea before relaxing in your luxurious guest room or unwind in the magnificent lobbies by a cozy fireplace. DAY 3: GREENBRIER RESORT
Awake to The Greenbrier’s incredible winter wonderland décor and sumptuous breakfast in the main dining room. DAY 4: COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG
There’s no place like Colonial Williamsburg for the holidays! Since 1936, festivities, enduring traditions and charming decorations take you on a Christmastide trip to the 18th century. Spend a full day exploring the world’s largest living history museum including the grandeur of royal authority in Virginia at the Governor’s Palace. DAY 5: THE HOMESTEAD
Travel to one of the world’s finest resorts, the opulent National Historic Landmark Omni Homestead Resort. Thousands of sparkling lights, miles of garland, warm crackling fireplaces, and an outdoor wonderland will be sure to get you in the holiday spirit! Since 1766, this premier Hot Springs resort has offered an incomparable retreat to 23 U.S. Presidents. This afternoon, enjoy Southern Social Hour with tea and treats by the Great Hall Christmas Tree. Tonight, after a delicious dinner, enjoy the ambiance of this magnificent resort. B, D
DAY 6: LEXINGTON
After a relaxing morning, depart to West Virginia for unique holiday shopping at the Tamarack Artisan Village; home of vibrant artists, Appalachian crafters, and local culinary experts. Tonight, celebrating its 30th year at the Kentucky Horse Park, Southern Lights is a magical holiday tradition throughout the Bluegrass region; see a million twinkling lights as we drive through this spectacular display. DAY 7: SANTA CLAUS IN, RETURN HOME
Stop in merry Santa Claus, IN to visit the Santa Claus Museum & Village and step into the town’s fascinating history dating back to 1856. Feel the ageless beauty as you walk into the completely original 1880 Santa Claus Church, then a fun photo op by the fully restored 1935 Santa Statue, towering 22 feet tall and “dedicated to the children of the world.” Indulge at the Santa Claus Christmas store for one-of-a-kind gifts and treats before returning home filled with festive holiday spirit! Each reservation requires a $250 per person deposit planning fee (exceptions may apply) to be credited toward your final payment. Some or all of your deposit may be non-refundable per our cancellation schedule noted in these Terms & Conditions below. We are happy to accept cash, check (preferred) or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover) for your deposit.
Luggage:
Orange luggage tags are provided and are to be placed on your “checked luggage” (large bag). You do not need a tag for your carry-on bag, for which you will be responsible for taking on and off the coach. There is limited space in the cabin of the coach, so unless you require your carry-on bag while traveling, we will stow it in the luggage compartment.
On the first and last nights of this tour, you are welcome to pack your carry-on bag with essentials that would enable us to leave your “checked bag” on the coach. This will facilitate faster check-in and luggage delivery. This is not a requirement, merely a suggestion; we will deliver your “checked bag” to your room on the first and last night if you desire, just like every other night of the tour.
