After that, it’s on to the scenic town of Grand Lake, where you’ll have some free time to explore, relax, and grab lunch on your own. We will hit the road again for a stunning drive through Rocky Mountain National Park, where the rugged peaks, sweeping views, and chances to spot local wildlife make for an unforgettable ride. We’ll drive along Trail Ridge Road, the highest continuous paved road in the U.S. and a designated All-American Road. B

DAY 3: GARDENS ON SPRING CREEK/FORT COLLINS

The day begins with a visit to The Gardens on Spring Creek, a serene 12-acre botanical oasis known for its diverse plant life and beautiful landscapes. From there, the journey continues with a nostalgic ride on the historic Fort Collins Trolley, offering a relaxed and charming way to take in the city’s rich history and vibrant neighborhoods. Enjoy having time to explore Fort Collins further on your own before gathering together for dinner. B, D

DAY 4: FLY FISHING/BISON TRAIN/CHEYENNE DEPOT/DELANCEY RANCH

This morning begins by watching a live fly fishing demonstration by experts from St. Peter's Fly Shop, showcasing casting techniques and sharing insights into the region's renowned fishing culture. After some time on the water, head to Cheyenne for a Western adventure. We’ll begin with a truly unique train experience that travels through pastures of Bison before diving into the history of the railroad and its impact on Cheyenne. Finally, partake in a special dinner at the DeLancey Family Ranch for a glimpse of the rodeo atmosphere. B, L, D

DAY 5: CHEYENNE FRONTIER DAYS

Today is the “Daddy of ‘em all,” the Cheyenne Frontier Days. We’ll start with the Behind the Chutes Tour where you will get an exclusive look at the rodeo grounds, animal holding areas, chutes, and operations that make this event world-renowned. After the tour, explore the history of the Frontier Days at the Old West Museum. Visit the Native American Village, Old Frontier Town, vendor booths, and entertainment throughout the area, while also taking in the exciting rodeo events of the day from the grandstand. B

DAY 6: SUNRISE MINES/OREGON TRAIL/FORT LARAMIE

This day will retrace the steps of history with the first stop at Sunrise Mines, once a bustling iron ore site that played a key role in early industry. From there, head to Register Cliff, where travelers on the Oregon Trail carved their names into the soft sandstone as a record of their journey west. Just a few miles away, walk alongside the impressive Guernsey Ruts, where thousands of wagon wheels wore deep grooves into the rock. The day continues at Fort Laramie, a pivotal 19th-century military outpost that served as a hub for pioneers, traders, and Native American relations. After a day rich in history and frontier landscapes, the tour returns to Cheyenne in the evening. B, L, D
