DAY 1: WELCOME TO KENTUCKY!

This Summer Classic begins with a scenic motorcoach ride through the rolling hills of Southern Indiana. Stop for lunch at Fat Santa’s Pizza in Santa Claus, IN before a visit to the Lincoln Boyhood Home Memorial. Visit the humble beginnings of our 16th President at his log cabin home and see what life was like on the 1820’s style farm. DAY 2: EXPLORE LOUISVILLE

Today’s starting lineup begins at the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory. Discover the story behind the bat that changed the game. Tour the iconic factory to see just how all Louisville Sluggers are made and take home a complimentary mini bat. Step aboard the Belle of Louisville historic steamboat for a picnic lunch cruise on the Ohio River. Visit the engine room and explore the mechanics of the oldest operating steamboat in the U.S. Enjoy a late afternoon at the hotel pool and dinner on your own. B, L, Hot Apps

DAY 3: CHURCHILL DOWNS

Get hands-on at one of the oldest stoneware manufacturers in the United States. See the process of how clay is transformed into functional items for the home, made here since 1815. Paint your own pottery art piece, a great keepsake from your time together on tour. Visit the Paristown Food Hall for lunch before heading to the storied home of American Horseracing, Churchill Downs. This tour includes a 25-minute guided track visit, two floors of interactive exhibits, and a showing of The Greatest Race, a 360° immersive experience. Return to the hotel and dinner at a local favorite. B, D

DAY 4: MAMMOTH CAVE JUNIOR RANGERS

Board the Motorcoach for a scenic drive in the Kentucky countryside enroute to Mammoth Cave National Park. Journey into the cave on a guided tour that provides an overview of the cave (some stairs required, please note that kids can accompany Tour Director and Ranger if grandparents stay back). No trip to a National Park with kids is complete without earning a coveted Junior Ranger badge. Complete the Junior Ranger booklet and take the oath given by a real Park Ranger! Depart for home. We will send 3 key communications for your tour; “Get Ready” is your email confirmation and initial tour information sent upon registration, “Get Set” email will be sent about two months before departure, “Go” trip documentation mailing is sent via USPS 3-4 weeks before departure and will include your daily itinerary, luggage tags and final departure information.

Travel Protection is optional and highly recommended and can be purchased until the day before departure. More information on Travel Protection will be provided in your Get Ready email.

Unless otherwise noted, your Sunrise Tour includes: Professional Sunrise Tour Director, meals as indicated, local step on guides including gratuity (international tour guide gratuity inclusion vary by tour), deluxe motorcoach transportation w/rest room, admission to activities and events as indicated, airfare from designated airports, transportation to/from designated airports from our convenient local pickup points*, luggage handling at hotels when available

We believe tipping is a personal and discretionary interaction between our guests and our staff. A typical gratuity for your Sunrise Tour Director and motorcoach driver may be $5-$7 per person, per day on tour. Sunrise Shuttle drivers appreciate gratuities (suggest $5 per person) for excellent service as well. Our staff will not solicit gratuities or pass out envelopes.

We are happy to offer refreshments on most motorcoach travel days on tour. We recommend you bring a refillable water bottle to maintain healthy hydration.

If less than 4 people request a pickup point, we may ask that you choose another pickup point from which to join your Sunrise Tour.

If you would like to join a tour from a city not listed as a departure point, we would love to have you along! Please discuss arrangements with our friendly reservation team.

To help make our tours the most comfortable in the business, we limit Sunrise Tours motorcoaches to 80% capacity, or 44 passengers on a coach built for 55. We reserve the right to amend this practice.

Your Tour Director will rotate seats on the motorcoach each day of your tour. A single fare does not guarantee two seats on coach; you may be seated next to another friendly Sunrise Tours guest.
