DAY 1: WELCOME TO IDAHO!

Fly to Spokane and transfer to the renowned Coeur d’Alene Resort for the next two nights, situated right on the water’s edge. Enjoy free time to enjoy the hotel amenities, visit the spa, take a dip in the pool, or enjoy a round of golf on their world-famous course. D

DAY 2: SIERRA SILVER MINE, MOUNTAIN GONDOLA, SUNSET

Travel to Wallace, known as the “Silver Capital of the World.” Tour an underground mine with a retired miner as your guide and even see the mining equipment in action. Enjoy free time to explore the quaint shops and restaurants in downtown Wallace before enjoying a scenic ride on the Silver Mountain Gondola. As North America’s longest gondola, there is no better location for panoramic mountain views. This evening, enjoy a sunset dinner cruise on Lake Coeur d’Alene. B

DAY 3: COEUR D’ALENE, NEZ PERCE

This morning, enjoy free time to explore downtown Coeur d’Alene and enjoy your last moments at the resort. Travel to Lewiston, where you will connect with members of the Nez Perce who have lived in the Lewis and Clark Valley for over 11,500 years. Enjoy a guided tour through the Nimiipuu homeland, experience a traditional welcome ceremony, and visit the Lewis and Clark Discovery Center. B

DAY 4: HELLS CANYON

Experience North America’s deepest river gorge from a whole new perspective: aboard a jet boat tour! Sail through rugged wilderness scenery, witness dramatic canyon walls, and spot wildlife such as bighorn sheep, deer, eagles, and bears. Your skilled captain will share stories about the canyon’s history, geology, and early settlers. You will even get the opportunity to take a swim in the Snake River. This evening, travel to McCall, a quaint town nestled on the shores of the glacier-carved Payette Lake. B, L

DAY 5: MCCALL, SCENIC BYWAY

Enjoy a leisurely morning in McCall. This afternoon, witness some of Idaho’s most beautiful scenery during a drive along the Payette River Scenic Byway. Take in the whitewater and mountain vistas on this stunning route then arrive in Boise, the capital of Idaho, and home to one of the largest Basque communities in the world outside of Spain. B, D

Option—Hot Springs Experience Journey into the mountains to a peaceful hot spring oasis. Soak in pools heated by deep geothermal aquifers and revel in the surrounding mountain scenery. Price: $29 per person

DAY 6: BASQUE CULTURE,

Discover Basque history and traditions at the Basque Museum and enjoy time to explore Boise on your own. This afternoon, get up close with the majestic creatures at the World Center for Birds of Prey. Continue on to Twin Falls, your home for the next two nights. B, D

DAY 7: EBR-1, CRATERS OF THE

Begin your adventure with a visit to EBR-1, the world’s first nuclear power plant. Tour this National Historic Landmark and learn about the scientific work done at Idaho National Laboratory. Continue to Craters of the Moon National Monument where you will feel like you’ve stepped onto another planet. This landscape of lava flows and ancient volcanoes is unlike anything else on Earth. Depart Salt Lake City International Airport with new friends and fond memories of the Gem State. B

Mobility Note
Guests should be comfortable boarding a gondola, jet boat, trolley and motorcoach, as well as walking through museums, historic areas and outdoor attractions. The Sierra Silver Mine Tour requires entering an underground mine and may include uneven surfaces. At Craters of the Moon, volcanic terrain can be rough and irregular, with some trails consisting of loose cinders and lava rock. Guests can enjoy portions of the park without entering the lava-tube caves, which require stairs and scrambling over rocks.

Hotel Note
The Coeur d’Alene Resort makes the accommodation part of the experience, with a prime waterfront setting directly on Lake Coeur d’Alene. Guests have two nights to enjoy the resort, waterfront and downtown location rather than simply arriving for an overnight stay.

The Best Western Plus McCall Lodge & Suites is located in the mountain resort community of McCall, approximately one mile from Payette Lake. The hotel features an indoor heated pool, whirlpool and dry sauna, providing a relaxing stop after the full-day Hells Canyon adventure.

Notes on Highlights
Hells Canyon is the deepest river-carved gorge in North America. At its deepest measurement, the Snake River lies nearly 8,000 feet below the surrounding peaks, making the included full-day jet boat excursion one of the tour's most dramatic experiences.

The Sierra Silver Mine stays approximately 50°F even during warm summer weather. The tour is led by an experienced miner and includes demonstrations of actual pneumatic mining equipment, giving guests firsthand insight into how hard-rock mining was done rather than simply viewing static exhibits.

Idaho has one of the largest Basque populations outside the traditional Basque homeland in Spain and France. Boise's Basque Block preserves this distinctive heritage through food, language, music, museums and community traditions.

EBR-I made history on December 20, 1951, when nuclear energy generated enough usable electricity to illuminate four light bulbs. The following day, the reactor produced enough electricity to power the entire building. Today, it is the only place in America where visitors can see four nuclear reactors, including two aircraft nuclear-propulsion prototypes.

Craters of the Moon contains more than 700 documented caves, most of them lava tubes formed when the outer surface of flowing lava cooled while molten lava continued moving beneath it. The unusual landscape resulted from repeated volcanic eruptions rather than a single volcano.

The contrast in scenery is one of this tour's strongest features. Guests travel from the lakes and forested mountains of northern Idaho through Hells Canyon and the Payette River corridor before reaching Boise's high desert and the black lava fields of southern Idaho, showcasing how geographically diverse the state really is.

Tour Communications: You will receive three key communications leading up to your tour:

• Get Ready: Your email confirmation and initial tour information, sent after you register.
• Get Set: An email with additional tour details, sent approximately two months before departure.
• Go: Your final trip documents, mailed via USPS approximately three to four weeks before departure. This packet will include your daily itinerary, luggage tags, and final departure information.

Travel Protection: Travel Protection is optional but highly recommended and may be purchased until the day before departure. Sunrise Tours offers plans through battleface. Additional information will be included with your Get Ready email and can also be found HERE.

Gratuities: We believe tipping is a personal and discretionary interaction between our guests and staff. A typical gratuity for your Sunrise Tour Director and motorcoach driver is $6 to $10 per person, per day of the tour. Sunrise Shuttle drivers also appreciate gratuities for excellent service, with a suggested amount of $5 per person. Our staff will not solicit gratuities or distribute gratuity envelopes.

Refreshments: We are happy to provide refreshments on most motorcoach travel days. We also recommend bringing a refillable water bottle to help you stay hydrated throughout your tour.

Pickup Points: If fewer than four travelers request a particular pickup point, we may ask those guests to select another available pickup location. Travelers are also welcome to join a tour from a city that is not listed as a departure point. Please contact our friendly reservations team to discuss available arrangements. For departure cities not listed, airfare is typically $100 more than the published fare for domestic tours and $200 more for international tours.

TSA PreCheck and Airline Rewards Numbers: TSA PreCheck, Known Traveler Numbers, and airline rewards numbers must be provided to our reservations team at least 60 days before departure. Numbers received after this deadline may not be applied to your reservation.

Airline Seating: Preferred seating may not be available with group airfare. In some cases, seats are not assigned until travelers arrive at the airport. Your tour fare includes an economy-class seat but does not include advance seat selection. Seat upgrades may be available for an additional cost.

Motorcoach Capacity and Seating: To provide one of the most comfortable motorcoach experiences in the industry, Sunrise Tours generally limits motorcoaches to 80% capacity. This allows for a maximum of 44 passengers on a motorcoach designed to accommodate 55. Sunrise Tours reserves the right to amend this practice. Your Tour Director will rotate motorcoach seating each day of the tour. Payment of a single-occupancy fare does not guarantee two motorcoach seats, and you may be seated beside another friendly Sunrise Tours guest.
