DAY 2: HISTORIC ROSCOE VILLAGE, ERIE CANAL, AMISH HOSPITALITY

Travel to Coshocton, Ohio, and step back in time at Historic Roscoe Village, a beautifully restored canal-era community. Explore the visitor center, stroll the charming main street, and browse historic shops. At The Farm at Walnut Creek, take a wagon ride through the countryside with an Amish guide, visit Amish homes, and enjoy a fresh-baked cookie. Settle into the Berlin Grande Hotel for a two-night stay, with free time to relax or explore the shops and boutiques of Berlin. This evening, experience Amish hospitality firsthand with a traditional Amish Wedding Dinner served in an Amish home. B, D

DAY 3: HERITAGE CENTER, AMISH THEATRE

The day begins at the Amish and Mennonite Heritage Center, where a hand-painted cyclorama brings the history of Amish, Mennonite, and Hutterite communities to life. Visit Ada’s Amish home for a quilting demonstration and learn about this cherished tradition before enjoying a homemade Amish Haystack lunch. Continue to Walnut Creek to browse a bulk food store, sample local treats at Coblentz Chocolates and Der Dutchman Bakery, and experience one of Ohio’s oldest Amish settlements. Return to Berlin for free time to relax or explore the town’s unique shops and quilt stores. This evening, enjoy dinner on your own before a lively performance at Amish Country Theater featuring music, comedy, audience participation, and family- friendly entertainment. B, L

DAY 4: BASKET MAKING, WARTHER MUSEUM

Enjoy another day immersed in Amish Country as you travel scenic back roads to meet Anna, a Swartzentruber Amish basket maker, and learn about her traditional craft. Visit a local buggy maker’s shop, then experience the energy of Mt. Hope Auction Day, where locals gather to buy and sell everything from livestock and baked goods to antiques and handmade products. Browse the famous Lehman’s Hardware, a one-of-a-kind “Low Tech Superstore” filled with non-electric goods and Amish-inspired treasures. This afternoon, tour the fascinating Warther Museum, home to extraordinary hand-carved locomotive replicas, before visiting an Amish dairy farm for a buggy ride and a glimpse into daily farm life. After dinner at a beloved local restaurant, depart Amish Country for an overnight stay in Columbus. B, D

DAY 5: MUSEUM OF U.S. AIR FORCE, RETURN HOME

This morning, travel to Dayton to visit the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, home to one of the world’s largest collections of military aircraft, missiles, and aerospace artifacts. Explore historic aircraft, presidential planes, and fascinating exhibits before continuing the journey home. B

Mobility Note
Guests should be comfortable boarding wagons, canal boats and horse-drawn buggies and walking through farms, workshops, markets, museums and historic villages. Surfaces may include gravel, grass, uneven ground, ramps and steps. The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force is especially large, with more than 19 acres of indoor exhibit space and concrete floors, so comfortable walking shoes are essential. Benches are available throughout the museum.

Packing Tips
Pack comfortable walking shoes, removable layers and a compact raincoat or umbrella. Closed-toe shoes are recommended for farms, workshops, auction grounds and wagon or buggy rides. The October departure may require a warmer jacket for cool mornings and evenings.

Photography Tips
Always ask permission before photographing Amish individuals. Many Amish people avoid posed photographs that clearly show their faces because of religious beliefs concerning humility and personal images. Photography may be more appropriate for scenery, farms, buggies, buildings and craftsmanship when permitted.

Hotel Note
The Berlin Grande Hotel is located just steps from downtown Berlin, making it convenient to explore nearby shops and boutiques during free time. The hotel also features an indoor saltwater pool and hot tub, and its guest rooms include a microwave and refrigerator.

Notes on Highlights
Ohio’s Amish Country is home to the world’s largest Amish community. Traveling the area’s back roads and visiting private homes, farms and working shops provides a much more personal understanding of Amish life than guests would receive from visiting public attractions alone.

The horse-drawn canal boat at Roscoe Village travels along a restored section of the Ohio and Erie Canal. The original canal helped connect Ohio’s farms and communities with larger markets, transforming isolated settlements into prosperous towns during the 19th century.

Mt. Hope Auction is a working community marketplace rather than a staged visitor attraction. The merchandise and activity vary each week, giving guests an authentic glimpse of how local residents buy, sell and socialize.

Lehman’s began by supplying practical, non-electric merchandise to the surrounding Amish community. Today, its unusual collection of old-fashioned tools, kitchenware, lamps and household goods attracts visitors from around the world.

The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force is the world’s largest military aviation museum, displaying more than 350 aircraft, missiles and aerospace vehicles. Its collection includes presidential aircraft that guests can walk through, including planes used by several United States presidents.

Other General Information
Tour Communications: You will receive three key communications leading up to your tour:

• Get Ready: Your email confirmation and initial tour information, sent after you register.
• Get Set: An email with additional tour details, sent approximately two months before departure.
• Go: Your final trip documents, mailed via USPS approximately three to four weeks before departure. This packet will include your daily itinerary, luggage tags, and final departure information.

Travel Protection: Travel Protection is optional but highly recommended and may be purchased until the day before departure. Sunrise Tours offers plans through battleface. Additional information will be included with your Get Ready email and can also be found HERE.

Inclusions: Unless otherwise noted, your Sunrise Tour includes:

Gratuities: We believe tipping is a personal and discretionary interaction between our guests and staff. A typical gratuity for your Sunrise Tour Director and motorcoach driver is $6 to $10 per person, per day of the tour. Sunrise Shuttle drivers also appreciate gratuities for excellent service, with a suggested amount of $5 per person. Our staff will not solicit gratuities or distribute gratuity envelopes.

Refreshments: We are happy to provide refreshments on most motorcoach travel days. We also recommend bringing a refillable water bottle to help you stay hydrated throughout your tour.

Pickup Points: If fewer than four travelers request a particular pickup point, we may ask those guests to select another available pickup location. Travelers are also welcome to join a tour from a city that is not listed as a departure point. Please contact our friendly reservations team to discuss available arrangements. For departure cities not listed, airfare is typically $100 more than the published fare for domestic tours and $200 more for international tours.

TSA PreCheck and Airline Rewards Numbers: TSA PreCheck, Known Traveler Numbers, and airline rewards numbers must be provided to our reservations team at least 60 days before departure. Numbers received after this deadline may not be applied to your reservation.

Airline Seating: Preferred seating may not be available with group airfare. In some cases, seats are not assigned until travelers arrive at the airport. Your tour fare includes an economy-class seat but does not include advance seat selection. Seat upgrades may be available for an additional cost.

Motorcoach Capacity and Seating: To provide one of the most comfortable motorcoach experiences in the industry, Sunrise Tours generally limits motorcoaches to 80% capacity. This allows for a maximum of 44 passengers on a motorcoach designed to accommodate 55. Sunrise Tours reserves the right to amend this practice. Your Tour Director will rotate motorcoach seating each day of the tour. Payment of a single-occupancy fare does not guarantee two motorcoach seats, and you may be seated beside another friendly Sunrise Tours guest.
