DAY 3: VANCOUVER ISLAND, BC

DAY 4: REVELSTOKE, BC

Journey along the scenic Trans-Canada Highway to the inland mountains of British Columbia to overnight in the mountain paradise of Revelstoke. Nestled in the Kootenay Rockies, enjoy stunning views of rugged mountains, crisp glaciers, lush forests, and raging waterfalls. B, D

DAY 5: BANFF, ALBERTA

Travel through Rogers Pass, Glacier, and Yoho National Parks on your way into Banff National Park, Canada’s first national park. Enjoy the grandeur of the Canadian Rocky Mountains while floating on the Bow River with experienced river guides. This leisurely float offers excellent opportunities to view beaver, elk, and osprey complete with up close views of Three Sisters Mountain and some of the tallest peaks in the Rockies Front range. DAY 6: ATHABASCA GLACIER

Join our local guide for a scenic journey north on the Icefield Parkway into Jasper National Park. Experience azure blue waters of the glacier-fed Peyto Lake and explore the most photographed spot in the Canadian Rockies, Lake Louise. Enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience during a “snow coach” trek onto the surface of Athabasca Glacier, part of the largest icefield in the Canadian Rockies. B, L

DAY 7: KOOTENAY NATIONAL PARK, BC, WHITEFISH

Travel through Kootenay National Park, filled with icy mountain rivers and steamy hot springs, to Radium Hot Springs, BC for a European luncheon at Helna’s Stube Restaurant. Cross back into the United States to explore the mountain village of Whitefish before unpacking for a three-night stay in Kalispell, Montana. B, L

DAY 8: GLACIER NATIONAL PARK

Board the narrated “red bus jammers” for a journey along the Going-to-the-Sun-Road, the only road that crosses Glacier National Park. Enjoy the fresh air and views of Glacier’s pristine forests, alpine meadows, rugged mountains, and spectacular lakes. After lunch in the park, return to Kalispell. B, L

DAY 9: KALISPELL

Kalispell, Montana, a charming town with rich history and stunning landscapes, embodies classic Western spirit. Visit the Conrad Mansion and Northwest Montana History Museum and learn about how the railroad boom of the late 19th Century changed the region forever. End the day with a delicious, hearty meal at Lonesome Dove Ranch. B, D

DAY 10: LEAVENWORTH

Travel through Coeur D’Alene National Forest to Leavenworth, WA, nestled in the heart of the Cascade Mountains. Take a guided tour of the historic Cashmere Museum and Pioneer Village before unpacking for a two-night stay at the charming Bavarian Lodge. Herzlich Willkommen! B

DAY 11: LEAVENWORTH

This day is yours to stroll through beautiful Leavenworth. Perhaps tour the amazing Nutcracker Museum, with over 7,000 nutcrackers of all kinds, some dating back to Roman times or visit the Greater Leavenworth Museum to learn about the community’s unique history. Listen to the Alp Horn serenades as you enjoy this delightful Bavarian Village! Savor German cuisine at a farewell dinner. B, D

Mobility Note
Guests should be comfortable boarding ferries, sightseeing boats, a raft, historic Red Jammer buses, and the Ice Explorer vehicle at the Columbia Icefield. Walking may include paved paths, gravel, uneven natural terrain, inclines, and high-elevation viewpoints. At the Athabasca Glacier, surfaces can be wet, icy, and uneven, and guests should use caution when walking on the glacier.

Canadian Dollar (CAD) while traveling in British Columbia and Alberta. Credit cards are widely accepted, but a small amount of Canadian cash may be useful for minor purchases and free-time stops.

Packing Tips
Pack comfortable walking shoes with good traction, removable layers, a waterproof jacket, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a refillable water bottle. A warm jacket, hat, and light gloves are recommended for the Icefields Parkway, Athabasca Glacier, and Going-to-the-Sun Road. Weather in the mountains can change quickly, and cold rain or snow is possible even outside the winter season.

Hotel Note
Fox Hotel & Suites in Banff features a distinctive indoor hot pool inspired by the historic Cave and Basin hot springs that helped lead to the creation of Banff National Park. The cave-like pool includes rockwork, waterfalls, a sauna, and an opening to the outdoors above, making it a unique amenity during the two-night Banff stay.

The Bavarian Lodge is located directly across from the heart of downtown Leavenworth, putting the village’s shops, restaurants, and Bavarian-style streets just steps from the hotel. Guests have two nights here, making the location particularly convenient for the full day of independent exploration.

Notes on Highlights
The Icefields Parkway stretches approximately 144 miles between Lake Louise and Jasper and follows the Continental Divide through some of the Canadian Rockies’ most dramatic mountain scenery. Glaciers, turquoise lakes, waterfalls, and sweeping valleys line the route, making the drive itself one of the major sightseeing experiences of the tour.

The Columbia Icefield is the largest icefield in the Canadian Rockies and feeds glaciers and river systems that eventually drain toward three different oceans: the Pacific, Atlantic, and Arctic. The Athabasca Glacier is one of its most accessible glacier tongues.

Banff became Canada’s first national park in 1885, and the discovery of hot springs near present-day Banff played a major role in its creation. The Fox Hotel’s Cave and Basin-inspired hot pool provides a fun connection back to that history.

Going-to-the-Sun Road crosses Glacier National Park and the Continental Divide at Logan Pass. The historic Red Jammer buses have roll-back tops, giving guests unusually open views of waterfalls, towering cliffs, mountain peaks, and alpine scenery while traveling the narrow mountain road.

Leavenworth’s Bavarian appearance is relatively modern. Facing economic decline after the railroad and logging industries changed, community leaders transformed the town into an Alpine-themed destination beginning in the 1960s. Today, the Bavarian architecture, restaurants, shops, and traditions make the two-night stay feel dramatically different from the mountain parks earlier in the tour.

The itinerary crosses a remarkable variety of landscapes in 12 days, from the Pacific coast and gardens of Victoria to the Canadian Rockies, Glacier National Park, Montana’s Flathead Valley, and Washington’s Cascade Mountains.

Tour Communications: You will receive three key communications leading up to your tour:

• Get Ready: Your email confirmation and initial tour information, sent after you register.
• Get Set: An email with additional tour details, sent approximately two months before departure.
• Go: Your final trip documents, mailed via USPS approximately three to four weeks before departure. This packet will include your daily itinerary, luggage tags, and final departure information.

Travel Protection: Travel Protection is optional but highly recommended and may be purchased until the day before departure. Sunrise Tours offers plans through battleface. Additional information will be included with your Get Ready email and can also be found HERE.

Inclusions: Unless otherwise noted, your Sunrise Tour includes:

Gratuities: We believe tipping is a personal and discretionary interaction between our guests and staff. A typical gratuity for your Sunrise Tour Director and motorcoach driver is $6 to $10 per person, per day of the tour. Sunrise Shuttle drivers also appreciate gratuities for excellent service, with a suggested amount of $5 per person. Our staff will not solicit gratuities or distribute gratuity envelopes.

Refreshments: We are happy to provide refreshments on most motorcoach travel days. We also recommend bringing a refillable water bottle to help you stay hydrated throughout your tour.

Pickup Points: If fewer than four travelers request a particular pickup point, we may ask those guests to select another available pickup location. Travelers are also welcome to join a tour from a city that is not listed as a departure point. Please contact our friendly reservations team to discuss available arrangements. For departure cities not listed, airfare is typically $100 more than the published fare for domestic tours and $200 more for international tours.

TSA PreCheck and Airline Rewards Numbers: TSA PreCheck, Known Traveler Numbers, and airline rewards numbers must be provided to our reservations team at least 60 days before departure. Numbers received after this deadline may not be applied to your reservation.

Airline Seating: Preferred seating may not be available with group airfare. In some cases, seats are not assigned until travelers arrive at the airport. Your tour fare includes an economy-class seat but does not include advance seat selection. Seat upgrades may be available for an additional cost.

Motorcoach Capacity and Seating: To provide one of the most comfortable motorcoach experiences in the industry, Sunrise Tours generally limits motorcoaches to 80% capacity. This allows for a maximum of 44 passengers on a motorcoach designed to accommodate 55. Sunrise Tours reserves the right to amend this practice. Your Tour Director will rotate motorcoach seating each day of the tour. Payment of a single-occupancy fare does not guarantee two motorcoach seats, and you may be seated beside another friendly Sunrise Tours guest.
